മാനന്തവാടി: അമ്മയുടെ മരണവിവരം അറിഞ്ഞ് രണ്ടാഴ്ച മുൻപ് ദുബായിൽനിന്ന് നാട്ടിലെത്തിയ യുവാവ് വാഹനാപകടത്തിൽ മരിച്ചു. കമ്മന കരിന്തിരിക്കടവ് പാറച്ചാലിൽ ജോണിന്റെയും പരേതയായ മേരി ജോണിന്റെയും മകൻ ദീപു ജോൺ ആണ് മാനന്തവാടിയിൽ ഉണ്ടായ അപകടത്തിൽ മരിച്ചത്.

ശനിയാഴ്ച രാത്രി ഏഴുമണിയോടെയാണ് അപകടം. മാനന്തവാടി ബസ് സ്റ്റാൻഡിന് സമീപത്തുനിന്ന് എൽഎഫ് യുപി സ്കൂൾ ജംക്‌ഷൻ ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് ബൈക്കിൽ പോകുകയായിരുന്ന ദീപുവിന്റെ വാഹനം ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷയിൽ തട്ടുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇടിയുടെ ആഘാതത്തിൽ റോഡിലേക്ക് തെറിച്ചുവീണ ദീപു എതിരെ വന്ന റിക്കവറി വാനിന്റെ അടിയിൽപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു.

അപകടത്തിൽ തലയ്ക്ക് ഗുരുതരമായി പരുക്കേറ്റ ദീപു സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തുതന്നെ മരിച്ചു. അപകടത്തിന്റെ സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ പുറത്തുവന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. 

ഈ മാസം 11നാണ് ദീപുവിന്റെ അമ്മ മേരി മരിച്ചത്. അമ്മയുടെ മരണവിവരം അറിഞ്ഞതിനെ തുടർന്ന് രണ്ടാഴ്ച മുൻപാണ് ദീപു ദുബായിൽനിന്ന് നാട്ടിലെത്തിയത്. ഇതിനിടെയാണ് ദീപുവിനും ദാരുണമായ അപകടം സംഭവിച്ചത്.

ജോണിന്റെയും മേരിയുടെയും മകനാണ് ദീപു. ഭാര്യ എമിലി. ഒരു മകനുണ്ട്. സഹോദരി ദിവ്യ ജോൺ. അമ്മയുടെ മരണത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ ദുബായിൽനിന്ന് നാട്ടിലെത്തിയ ദീപുവിന്റെ അപ്രതീക്ഷിത മരണം കുടുംബത്തെയും ബന്ധുക്കളെയും ദുഃഖത്തിലാഴ്ത്തി.
