പാലക്കാട്: പാലക്കാട്–കോഴിക്കോട് ദേശീയപാതയിൽ മുണ്ടൂർ കാഞ്ഞിക്കുളത്ത് ലോറികൾ കൂട്ടിയിടിച്ചുണ്ടായ തീപിടിത്തത്തിൽ ഡ്രൈവർ വെന്തുമരിച്ചു. തിരൂർക്കാട് സ്വദേശി നാസർ ആണ് മരിച്ചത്.

ഇന്ന് പുലർച്ചെ അഞ്ചേമുക്കാലോടെയാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായത്. കണ്ടെയ്നർ ലോറിയും മറ്റൊരു ലോറിയും തമ്മിൽ കൂട്ടിയിടിച്ചതിന് പിന്നാലെ തീ ആളിക്കത്തുകയായിരുന്നു.

അപകടത്തെ തുടർന്ന് ലോറികൾക്ക് തീപിടിക്കുകയും തീ അതിവേഗം ആളിപ്പടരുകയുമായിരുന്നുവെന്നാണ് ലഭിക്കുന്ന വിവരം. സംഭവത്തെ തുടർന്ന് അഗ്നിരക്ഷാ സേന സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി തീയണയ്ക്കാനുള്ള പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തി. തീ പൂർണമായും അണച്ച ശേഷമാണ് നാസറിനെ പുറത്തെടുത്തത്.

തുടർന്ന് നാസറിന്റെ മൃതദേഹം പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലാ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. അപകടത്തെ തുടർന്ന് ദേശീയപാതയിൽ ഏറെ നേരം ഗതാഗതം തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടു.
